Registration Information

You can register for the Symposium using one of the following options:

International Symposium on In-Vivo Body Composition symposium and 1 year membership to the International Society of Body Composition Research

• Early Bird (before May 1, 2008) $400.00; After May 1, 2008 $450.00.
• Student Registration price $200.00 before May 1st, $250.00 after May 1st.
• At this time only Credit Cards and Money Orders/ Traveler’s Checques are viable for payment. No Personal checks will be accepted.

The cost includes the following:

• Welcome Reception on Wednesday Evening, July 9th.
• Lunch on Thursday July 10th, Friday July 11th, and Symposium Closing Luncheon on Saturday July 12th.
• Morning and afternoon refreshment for Thursday-Saturday during conference.
• Access to all scientific sessions, poster sessions, and trade exhibition.
• Conference materials including conference program, abstract book, conference bag, and certificate of attendance.

Please note that accommodation is not included. If you require overnight accommodation, please review Conference housing portion to choose your NYC options. A limited number of university dorm style housing will be available at Columbia University for an average rate of $80.00 per evening.

To obtain a letter of invitation from the International Symposium on In-Vivo Body Composition New York Committee, you must be a paid registrant for the conference July 9th-July 12th. Once your registration has been submitted and processed, you may then request a letter from registration@ibc2008.com to be sent to you for your application.

PLEASE NOTE: There will also be a Social Gala Boat Cruise through NY Spirit Cruises, at an additional charge, for Thursday evening, July 10th. Pricing is set at $125.00 per person. Additional information will be available shortly. We know you’ll want to join us and see the sights of Manhattan’s skyline on a beautiful summer’s eve!

Student Bursaries (Registrations)

A limited number of student bursaries (registrations) to contribute towards the cost of attending International Symposium on In-Vivo Body Composition are available for those wishing to present their own work at the Symposium. Please contact Conference Committee at registration@ibc2008.com if you wish to apply for a Student Bursary (registration) when you submit your abstract. To be considered for a Student Bursary, you must meet one of the following criteria:

• Currently matriculated student: Must be registered in an accredited program. Please provide copy of student ID and current school registrar letter confirming enrollment.
• Post Doctorate Fellow: Please provide letter from Supervisor, Department Head, or Laboratory Head, supporting your work as research fellow.

Please register at your earliest convenience. Registration for the Symposium should take place before May 1, 2008. After this date it may not be possible to arrange university accommodation or guarantee your participation at the social events.

Accommodations

Accommodation is available both at Columbia University (Dorm Style Housing) and local hotels close to the venue of the meeting.

When you are registered, you may choose Dorm Style Housing at estimated price of $80.00 per evening, or peruse the attached list for local hotels of additional accommodation options.

Please note that University housing is not designed for families. University housing will not be able to house anyone under 15 years of age.
